U11 and U12 POLAR CUP INDOOR RULES VICTORIA AND FOOT FIELD 8 VS 8

U11 and U12 Soccer are governed by FIFA/IFAB Laws of the Game 2016/17 (http://www.canadasoccer.com/files/Laws_of_the_Game_2016_17_English.pdf) with the following modifications and competition rules for the indoor game. All relevant Tournament rules apply.

Law 1 The Field of Play

The field size is determined by facility used and marked accordingly. Cones may be used for outlines or penalty area.

Law 2 The Ball

The game ball shall be size 4

Law 3 The Players

U11 and U12 - A match is played by two teams, each with a maximum of 8 players; one must be the goalkeeper. A match may not start or continue if either team has fewer than 5 players on the field.

Unlimited substitutions shall be allowed.

No players may be added or alterations made to the game sheet after the commencement of the second half.

Law 5 The Referee

The Referee Assignor will assign two ASA registered Referee for each scheduled game. Games can proceed with 1 official

Law 7 The Duration of the Match

A match lasts for two equal halves of 25 minutes each. There is no allowance for time lost. Teams must have the minimum number of players (see Law 3) by ten (10) minutes after the scheduled game time. A game shall be declared valid if, in the referee's estimation, at least 2/3 of the game has lapsed.

Law 9 The Ball in and out of Play

The ball is out of play when it touches the ceiling. Restart: Throw-in to the opponents of the player who last touched the ball, at the touchline closest to where the ball touched the ceiling.

Law 11 Offside

There are no offside offences (retreat line in effect on Goal kicks)

Law 12 Fouls and Misconduct

All yellow and red card offences are to be recorded by the referee on the applicable game sheet. No further discipline is applied. Spitting on the field is a sending off offense. (Team is not reduced in numbers on the field). No further discipline is applied. If a player is given two yellows or a Red card they are not to play for the rest of the game. At no time do teams play short handed.

Law 13 Free Kicks

Until the ball is in play all opponents must remain at least 5 yards from the ball, unless they are on their own goal line between the goalposts. (Indirect and Direct kicks apply)

Law 16 Goal Kick

At the taking of a goal kick, all players from the opposing team will retreat back behind the line (marked by painted line or cones) at the defensive 1/3 mark of the field, which will also be known as the retreat line. Players from the opposing team may not pass the retreat line until the ball has left the goal kick area or 5 seconds. If an opposing player passes the retreat line before the ball is deemed in play, then the goal kick will be retaken.

Law 1 The Field of Play

The field size is determined by facility used and marked accordingly.

Law 3 The Players

A Match is played by two teams, each with a maximum of:

• 7 players one must be the goalkeeper.

There is a maximum of twenty (20) players may be dressed by each team in any game. Unlimited substitutions shall be allowed.

No players may be added or alterations made to the game sheet after the commencement of the second half.

Law 5 The Referee

Two ASA registered Referee for each scheduled game will be assigned. Games may proceed with 1 official.

Law 7 The Duration of the Match

A match lasts for two equal halves of 25 minutes There is no allowance for time lost. Teams must have the 5 of players ten (10) minutes after the scheduled game time. A game shall be declared valid if, in the referee's estimation, at least 2/3 of the game has lapsed.

Law 9 The Ball in and out of Play

Players receiving 2 yellow or 1 red will play short handed and depending on the incident will sit 1 or more games. Receiving a red card is an automatic 1 game suspension.

Spitting on the field is a sending off offense. (Team is not reduced in numbers on the field). No further discipline is applied.

Law 13 Free Kicks

Until the ball is in play all opponents must remain at least 5 yards from the ball, unless they are on their own goal line between the goalposts. Indirect and Direct kicks apply (outdoor rules)

The Goalkeeper:

The Goalkeeper cannot volley or half volley the ball past half from their hands. If this occurs the ball will be given to the opposition for a free kick from the center of the center line. The goalie or player may kick the ball past half from the ground. The goalie can throw the ball past half if able.
